My Design Role Model

For the last project of the year in Design History I, we had been guided to create an 8-page zine. The zine had to hold all of the information based on the previous research and work we had done to choose said role model.

Leta Sobierajski

After doing some research on Leta Sobierajski, I knew she would take the spot for my design role model. I think Leta finds a great way to incorporate primary colors and basic shapes with their very opposites. I was also very inspired by her use of colors and patterns. I appreciated how funky her designs were and how they combined many different art forms into one. She also used photography as another way to express herself through design.

Before you see the final spread, here are some additional promotional posters I created!

At the very start of this journey, we began by writing an essay about our chosen design role model. I became very familiar with her design style and work. This was exciting for me, mainly because I knew we got to do our own version of their work for this zine.

Her works that acted as my inspiration!
